First aid kit for RV travel

Also known as: First aid kit, Travel first aid kit, RV medical kit, Camping first aid kit

An extended medical kit for road trips — more than the standard car kit, for when hospitals are far away.

The standard car first aid kit required in Russia is the bare minimum: bandages, a tourniquet, gloves. For trips of 2+ weeks you need an extended kit (Russian brand names in the list, with the active ingredient where helpful):

Painkillers: Nurofen (ibuprofen), Ketorol (ketorolac), Paracetamol Antihistamines: Suprastin (chloropyramine, for insect bites), Zodak (cetirizine) Digestive: Smecta, Loperamide, Enterosgel, Regidron (oral rehydration salts) Antibiotics (prescription): Amoxiclav, Ciprofloxacin — for emergencies when the nearest hospital is 200+ km away Antiseptics: Chlorhexidine, Miramistin, 70% alcohol Burns: Panthenol, Olazol Wounds: bandages, fabric and waterproof plasters, scissors, tweezers, thermometer Eyes: Taufon, Okumetil Teeth: Cholisal gel, Nurofen Express Colds and flu: Aspirin, ORVI-block, throat spray Heart (if travelling with older people): Nitroglycerin, Validol

Region-specific: - Taiga: tick repellents with DEET 30%+, tick-borne encephalitis vaccine (a month ahead) - South: burn treatments and sunscreen - Altai/Caucasus: altitude sickness — Acetazolamide (Diakarb), prescription only

Keep everything in an airtight box in a cool spot in the motorhome. Check expiry dates every season.
