The Curonian Spit is a narrow strip of sand about 98 km long between the sea and the lagoon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (jointly with the Lithuanian part). The main points are the Efa Height with its view of the dunes, the Dancing Forest and the Fringilla ornithological station. A single road runs along the spit; entry to the park is paid, stopping and parking are allowed only in equipped bays, and the dunes may be crossed strictly on the wooden boardwalks.
