Rain radar and hourly forecast: rain, thunder and snow on the map

The radar shows where it's raining now and where the front is heading; our own forecast grid shows what's coming over your camp tonight and three days ahead. Thunder, hail, snow and lightning get their own symbols on the storm map.

In short

Weather on CAMPLY is a live rain radar, an hourly forecast of rain, thunder and snow three days ahead for any place on Earth, and a map of thunderstorms and lightning. The forecast is computed on CAMPLY's own grid and refreshed four times a day; every camp, campground and spring card shows the forecast for that exact place.

Radar, forecast and storm map on one map

Rain radar now

Where it's raining this minute and where the cloud is moving. A frame strip to scrub back and forth.

Precipitation forecast

Our own grid three days ahead, hour by hour. Thunder, hail and snow are drawn as a pattern over the fill, with the edge of the data marked.

Thunder and lightning map

Thunder and hail as a pattern over the rain; a separate lightning layer shows where it's flashing now and where the front is going.

Temperature, clouds, wind

Temperature bands, cloud cover and wind as separate layers. Cloud cover also tells you whether you'll see the aurora.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about weather on the map

How often is the forecast updated?
Four times a day, on CAMPLY's own grid. The live rain radar is a separate layer with a frame strip.
How does the rain radar differ from the forecast?
The radar is a snapshot of now: where it's raining this minute and where the cloud is going, with frames back in time. The forecast is our own grid three days ahead, hour by hour. On the map they are two different layers.
Is there an online thunder and lightning map?
Yes. Thunder and hail are drawn as a pattern over the rain, and a separate layer shows lightning; the layer marks the edge of its data — where there is no forecast, the map says so.
Does the weather work offline?
In the CAMPLY app — yes: a forecast slice lives in the region pack on your phone. The website needs a connection.
