Description

Gonio-Apsaros Fortress is a former ancient Roman outpost in Adjara. The earliest mention of the fortress was left by the ancient Roman writer and statesman Pliny the Younger, who lived in the 1st century AD. Gonio is the oldest fortress in Georgia.
