Khvalynsky National Park occupies the chalk Khvalynsk Hills rising above the right bank of the Volga — the highest points in Saratov Region. Pine woods grow on the slopes, walking routes and eco-trails are laid out, and a ski slope operates next to the town of Khvalynsk, so the place is alive all year. Access is from Khvalynsk, and some roads inside the park are unsurfaced.
