The Shukhov Tower at Polibino is the world's first steel hyperboloid structure, shown at the All-Russian Exhibition of 1896 in Nizhny Novgorod and then moved to this Lipetsk estate. The openwork tower, about 37 metres high, stands beside the Nechayev manor house. Polibino is a small village in Dankovsky District; the approach is on asphalt, with the last stretch on a local road.
