The principal church of the Tobolsk Kremlin and the oldest stone building in Siberia: the cathedral was raised in the 1680s by masters sent from Moscow. Around it grew Siberia's only stone kremlin, with a merchants' court and a bishop's house. The kremlin stands on a high headland above the Irtysh and the lower town; there is parking nearby, and the grounds are walked on foot.
