Tambukan is an endorheic salt lake on the border of Stavropol Krai and Kabardino-Balkaria, the main source of therapeutic mud for the Caucasian Mineral Waters resorts. The mud is extracted industrially and distributed to sanatoriums, so there is no bathing and no equipped beach here: the shores are empty, salty and without facilities. The lake is visible straight from the Pyatigorsk-Nalchik road, and there are places for a short stop.
