As of 2026, Bangladeshi passport holders will have to pay a refundable visa bond after receiving visa approval. US Ambassador Brent T. Christensen has stated that it must be paid after the applicant has received a clear confirmation of their acceptance and not before. Moreover, it must be paid directly, based on instructions provided, and not through a third-party. The bond may range from $5,000 to $15,000. Once the traveller returns within the designated time, while abiding by the conditions accepted beforehand, it will be automatically cancelled and refunded. Visitors are required to check the โ€œAdmit Until Dateโ€ on their I-94 record to determine their authorized period of stay. The expiration date of a B1/B2 visitor visa does not determine the length of stay.

FAQ

Visas for Bangladesh citizens

Where can Bangladesh passport holders go visa-free?
Visa-free: 17 countries and territories, including Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Fiji, Gambia and Grenada. In 3 more countries, an electronic travel authorisation is enough โ€” it takes a few minutes online.
Where can you stay the longest without a visa?
The longest stays: Barbados โ€” 180 days, Dominica โ€” 180 days, Jamaica โ€” 180 days and Fiji โ€” 120 days.
How accurate is this, and how often is it updated?
The reference is updated weekly and cross-checked against two independent sources; where they disagree, the country is marked โ€œReferences disagreeโ€. Only the destination country can confirm its rules โ€” check its official website or embassy before you travel.
What is an electronic travel authorisation versus an e-visa?
An electronic travel authorisation (ETA, ESTA and the like) is a short online form, usually approved within minutes to days. An e-visa is a full visa, but you apply and pay online without visiting a consulate.
